Well done to the Gents teams in the Central League and Crieff & District League Division 2 for winning the 2013/14 league.

April 2014 Inter-regional Junior Squash at Colinton Castle
Several players from Dunblane Sports Club took part in the Scottish inter-regional tournament which ended the squash season. There were 26 teams from the six regions over age groups. Here is a list of the Dunblane Sports Club players who took part, seed, and age groups:
U11 - Cory Gibson (1), Eilidh Mackenzie (4), Duncan Hegarty (5)
U13 - Fraser Laing (1)
U15 - James Dougan (2), Keir Mackenzie (3), Emma Fitzsimmons (4)
U17 - Adam Gibson (2), Robbie Harper (3)
The under 15 and 13 teams did really well and came home with silver medals which was great. Under 11 tournament was very tight and the central team just lost out on a silver by a countback so came home with bronze. They played the very last match of the tournament and all the results depended on that match. Lots of good squash was played over the weekend and the under 17 team also put in good performances against players at the top of the squash matrix who they had never played before. It was a very good but long and tiring weekend with matches starting at 9am until 7pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. We all had lots of fun socialising and meeting other players from other regions of all different ages. We all had a great weekend and can’t wait till next year. (Report by Cory Gibson).

West of Scotland Open - 19/20th October 2013
Newlands Sports Club, Glasgow

The squash caravan moved on, nearly-seamlessly, from Heriot-Watt in Edinburgh to Scotland's second capital city (!) with the Newlands Club in Glasgow hosting the West Open. Dunblane squash juniors were well represented with the hardy crew of James Dougan, Emma Fitzsimmons and Keir MacKenzie moving on to Glasgow after their week at the Scottish Squash national performance training camp. They were also joined by Adam and Cory ("Team Gibson") and Robbie Harper.

Overall, the standard was good and our Dunblane juniors not only performed well but were a credit both on and off the court. A particular well done to Keir Mackenzie who played a very hard fought match in the final and finished second overall in Division 4.

Keir Mackenzie Division 4 Runner Up

A big note of thanks to all those court side parents that travelled to and from Glasgow and well done to Team Gibson, who had the sense to do an overnighter in Glasgow.

April 2013 Inter-regional Junior Squash at Scotstoun
Great results for the Central team helped by many Dunblane juniors. The U11's came a close second to West. At No.1 Fraser beat Struan getting revenge for his defeat at the Scottish Junior Closed. U11 team was Fraser Laing, Ben Orr, Ross Waddell, Finlay Martin and Eilidh Mackenzie. U13's team of Josh Pritchard, Maddie Orr, Robbie Harper, Jo Adams and Claum Mitchell came 3rd. U15 team of Jack Orr, James Dougan, Emma Fitzsimmons, Keir Mackenzie and Chris Martin played some great squash in a very close competition. Some matches were won by James scrounging a game or two off really experienced players and Emma and Keir winning their games 3-0. This resulted in a second place behind West. And the U19 team all Crieff players came 3rd. Congratulations to everyone and most special was that all players came home with medals!!

***CAR PARK***
Please remember to use the sports club car park entered via Ochlochy Park and not the golf club car park which is for golf club members only. Due to the height of the entrance hump, we recommend cars with very low profiles park in the overflow car park spaces at the back of the club, accessed via the golf club car park. Please do not park on the road immediately outside the club entrance as this often causes problems for our neighbours.

Work is in progress. Halted due to wet weather.
